Privacy policy
Last updated: 3 October 2026
Gosanely is an app for learning Norway's traffic rules for the class B driving licence. This policy explains what personal data the app uses, why, where it is kept, and the rights you have. We keep it short, because we collect very little.
Who is responsible
Helm-Sens AS, Norway, is responsible for the personal data processed in Gosanely (the "controller"). Contact: nehavj0910@gmail.com
What we collect
- Your account: your name, your email address, and how you sign in (email and password, or Google). If you use a password, it is stored only as a secure hash – nobody can read it. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from them; we do not receive your Google password.
- Your learning progress: which practice drives you have completed, your answers in the theory practice, your module test scores, your mock exam results, and which intros and sign cards you have seen.
- Technical data needed to run the service: when you sign in or save your progress, our hosting provider records technical information such as your IP address and the time of the request in its security logs.
We do not collect your location, your contacts, photos, or any data from other apps, and the app contains no advertising or analytics tools.
Kept only on your phone
The app also stores some things on your phone only: a copy of your progress (so the app works offline), an encrypted copy of the theory questions, and your sound setting. The intro films are read aloud by your phone's own text-to-speech engine.
Why we use it
- To create and run your account and sign you in.
- To save your progress and give it back to you on any phone you sign in on.
- To send you emails about your account – confirming your email address and resetting your password. We do not send marketing emails.
- To keep the service secure and to prevent misuse – an account can be signed in on one device at a time; signing in on a new device signs the old one out.
The legal basis is that this is necessary to provide the service you ask for when you create an account (GDPR article 6(1)(b)), and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure (article 6(1)(f)).
Where your data is kept, and who helps us
- Supabase hosts the accounts and the saved progress, in the EU (Stockholm, Sweden).
- Google – only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- An email service provider sends the account emails (confirm your email, reset your password).
These providers process the data only to provide their service to us. We do not sell your data and do not share it with anyone for advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and progress for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your account and the progress saved in it are deleted at once. Copies in our hosting provider's backups and security logs disappear when those are overwritten, after a short period. See how to delete your account.
Your rights
You have the right to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to receive it in a portable format, and to object to its use. You can change your name and delete your account yourself in the app (Profile). For anything else, email nehavj0910@gmail.com from the email address of your account. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority,Datatilsynet.
Children
Gosanely is made for people learning to drive. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change is important, we tell you in the app.
